Harry Bowles and Mr. Hetherington, Sarnia, ON

The following article describes the purchase of the studio of Harry Bowles to a Mr. Hetherington.  I have found 5 ads for Mr. Bowles' studio in the Sarnia Observer dated May through Dec. of 1877 plus a small it regarding a fire in 1878, all of which are included in Tom LaPorte's history of Mr. Bowles, so I have not posted them here.

According to Glen Phillips book Ontario Photographers List 1851-1900, Harry Bowles operated in Sarnia from 1877-1879, when he sold the studio to Hetherington, who operated only until the end of that year.  I have yet to find an example of either gentleman's work.

UPDATE - 10 July 2015:  This year I was fortunate enough to purchase two carte de visite photos produced by Harry Bowles' Sarnia studio from the inventory of the late Harvey Zucker.  Both images are of the same sitter, but are different.  Also, both were placed on the back of the card.  Here they are:
